You Were Built To Worship God

As they began to sing and praise, the Lord set ambushes against the men of Ammon and Moab and Mount Seir who were invading Judah, and they were defeated. 23The Ammonites and Moabites rose up against the men from Mount Seir to destroy and annihilate them. After they finished slaughtering the men from Seir, they helped to destroy one another. 2 Chronicles 20: 22

A lot of people go through life struggling. It's always a fight to get from A to B. If you are to ask someone when last they had joy, peace or laughter in their home, you would probably hear them say they can't remember.

We were created for a much richer and more rewarding experience with God. Jehoshaphat was faced by what seemed like an insurmountable task. The Moabites and Ammonites with some of the Meunites came to wage war against Jehoshaphat. Scripture clearly states that Jehoshaphat was alarmed (2 Chronicles 20:3 NIV), but what I love about him is that he didn't allow any fear or worry to consume him. He simply sought the Lord.

Then a prophet rose up and spoke, declaring to Jehoshaphat what God had said. When man prays, God will always answer. God ordered the people not to worry for the battle was not for them to fight, but for God.

Immediately, upon hearing this declaration, all Judah began to rejoice, worshipping and praising the Lord. As they did that, a miracle happened, the enemy was surely defeating himself. All Judah had to do was watch as the glory of the Lord worked for them.

You need to understand, worship is able to solve a whole lot of problems. Miracles begin to happen when you turn your attention to God and begin to worship Him. This is what the Bible means when it states that seek ye first the Kingdom of God. Focusing your attention on the problem means you are seeing the challenge and believing it's insurmountable.

Turning your eyes toward God and consciously deciding to worship Him means that no matter the setback, limitation or challenge, you always see God as the only one deserving your attention. When you do that, you are fulfilling 1 Peter 5:7, casting all your cares upon him. Walls will begin to fall, even Jericho couldn't withstand a people united in worship.

Friend, worship is your true calling. You were created to worship Him, to glorify His name and to love Him. Everything else you might do, as long as it is not bringing glory to God, is a pervasion of the purpose God created you for. You might fail at everything else but never fail to glorify God.

When you learn to worship God, you are cultivating a deeper level of relationship, almost to the point were God calls you, "a man after my own heart".

Prayer

Oh Lord, how excellent is your name in all the earth. Let everything that is within me praise you Lord. I will rise early and seek you. Teach me to worship you from the depth of my spirit and let not thy presence depart from me. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Declaration

I am a God worshipping machine, created to give praises unto his name. I love the Lord with all that is within me.
