Romans 6:14 For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace.
A lot of people believe that grace means that we have been given a license to sin. To the contrary! What the law did was guide man on the way he was to go, how to live, how to relate with man. The law like I always put it is like a road sign which directs you or informs you. Take for example an intersection where tarmac and rail road meet. A rail road ahead sign will be put up before that intersection to alert you of possible danger. It is now up to you to take heed and take due caution. If you decide to ignore the sign, the concequences are obvious.
That is how the law worked. It was a sign that pointed man to the true deliverer but also at the same time warning man of sin. Ignoring the law then meant walking away from Jesus and also falling into sin.
Grace operates in a much more beautiful way. Consider the same intersection, instead of having a sign that warns you, a flyover (pass) is placed in front of you to enable you to bypass the railroad. Now you don't need to stop and give way to the train, you simply flyover it.
What grace gives us is not the right to sin, far from it. Grace gives us the ability [divine enablement] to overcome temptations and sin.
Prayer
Father thank you for giving me power over temptation and sin. I am forever grateful for this divine enablement that makes me overcome sin without struggle through your Spirit. In the mighty name of Jesus!
Declaration
I have the ability to jump over temptation and sin. My life is preserved, my salvation is sure through the mighty power of the grace of God.
