Revelation & Revolution
Exodus 2:23 After a long time, the king of Egypt died. The
Israelites groaned and cried out under their burden of slavery, and their cry
for deliverance from bondage ascended to God.
Exodus 2:11-12 In the course of time Moses grew up. Then he
went to see his own people and watched them suffering under forced labor. He
saw a Hebrew, one of his own people, being beaten by an Egyptian. 12 He looked
all around, and when he didn’t see anyone, he beat the Egyptian to death and
hid the body in the sand.
Israel lived in the choicest part of Egypt. They had the
best weather, water and they had the most fertile land in the whole country.
There was a time when they enjoyed what they had, but there came a season where
the physical benefits of the land they had could not be seen because of the
conditions they were now living under.
A man who had revelation (Joseph) got Israel to live in the
best part of a foreign land without paying for anything. The absence of a man
of revelation got Israel to live in bondage and forced labor. In every
generation. If no one with revelation is found, people suffer!
It was only when a man (Moses) with revelation came that
Israel was delivered from bondage. If bondage gets into the mind, it blocks you
from reaching your destiny. No matter how long the Israelites cried, it didn’t
change their situation. God waited for a man who could see a revelation to come
then provide freedom. You see, the children of Israel in bondage only saw the
chains but they did not see a way out.
Moses being raised in freedom did not have blinkers on his eyes.
He was a man of vision! When he visited the Israelites on this particular day,
his eyes opened! He realized that there was no need for the Israelites to
continue living this way. Something had and could be done. The Bible says Moses
beat the Egyptian to death! In every situation, have the ability to see a way
out! Moses had a revelation! He became the only man in all Egypt who had the
ability to stand up against wrongs that were being done.
Without revelation (the divine or supernatural disclosure to
humans of something relating to human existence) there can be no revolution. As
long as one does not have a revelation, change will never come. It’s not enough
to know that something is wrong until one takes action and does something
about it only then will things change. The anointing works with those who are
ready to use it and being ready entails waiting for the opportunity to act. May
you never fail to see! May you be a man/woman of revelation in your family. May
you continually provide solutions while others only see challenges!
